Hi there! So glad you're here. My name is Katie Hutchins, owner, and founder of Hutchins Home Therapy.

A bit about me: I am South Bay born and raised, lover of morning coffee with my husband, time spent with family and friends, trying new food, and reading on the beach.

I received my master's in communication sciences and disorders from NYU, and currently hold both an American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) certification of clinical competence (CCC-SLP) and a speech-language pathology California state license. I am an NLA trained clinician, passionate about a total communication approach, and work every day to become more neurodiversity affirming.

I have been in the field of Speech Pathology for 6 years, all in outpatient pediatric settings. So why in-home after all that time? Providing in-home therapy allows for a truly child centered, family-based approach. Treating children in their natural environment allows for natural language growth, generalized skills, and the ability to fully involve parents, caregivers, and siblings in the process.

My approach to speech therapy is simple: ALL communication styles are valid and should be acknowledged, play is the best and most effective way to elicit natural language growth, and family members should be involved every step of the way. I am a firm believer in meeting your child where they are, celebrating their strengths, leaning into their interests, and empowering parents to carryover treatment strategies into everyday routines.

I have extensive experience in evaluating and treating children with a variety of speech and language differences, including but not limited to: Autistic and neurodivergent children, AAC, Articulation, Early Intervention, and Fluency.
